The biggest and most well known boat in the water the Titanic.
On April 10th, 1913, the largest ship afloat was on its way to New York City from England. It was said to be one of the safest boats in the world, so they only had 20 lifeboats for nearly 2,200 passengers. They said the Titanic was built to be unsinkable, however; on April 14th at 11:40, she hit an iceberg. It made a huge hole on the side of the ship that caused water to start pouring in. Everyone was given a life jacket, but not everyone got on the lifeboats. The ones that did get on them saw the boat slowly sink. The next morning, the Liner Carpathia rescued 705 survivors that were on the lifeboats. Unfortunately, 1,522 passengers and crew members were lost in the deadly crash.
The first picture is the Titanic when it was first in the water. The second picture was when the boat was sinking. The last picture is of two boats that approached the Carpethia on April 15th, 1912.
